"A portrait of my daughters once a week, every week in 2016"

Lottie and Róisín; Annnnnnnd ... we're back! After a HUGE hiatus and some much needed offline time while travelling to America for 5 weeks and then settling back into home life in Aus. This pic pretty much sums up what we've been up to. Hanging out, cracking ourselves up and getting used to our now one year olds immediate transformation from a sweet little babe to a roaring toddler wild child. (Hopefully) This week will be an updated post of our missed 52's and all the adventures and places the weeks have taken us!

"A portrait of my daughters, once a week, every week in 2016"

Lottie: Ginger Princess, theres never a dull day in your presence.

Róisín: Play school. Today is your very first day at occasional care. you are spending 4 hours playing and interacting and being well looked after while your mama gets some work done and your sister is at kinder. Your milestones have seemed to skyrocket - you walked at 10 months, you've almost got a full set of front teeth, when asked where your little nose is you can point to it and say "Dere!" and you chat away on the telephone to your grandmothers in a string of goos and gaas, always beckoning for the phone when Im on it. 3 weeks til your first birthday and you seem so grown already. Slow down baby doll, theres plenty of time for that!

you've got this whole life thing down pat now, snack, cuddle, snooze, repeat!

The Siblings Project: July

Lottie and Róisín
(4 years / 10 months)

You girls love each other, I mean I always knew you would - but one of you lacks the ability to talk and you still crack each other up and give each other knowing glances. Any day when you are out of the house, Lottie, upon return you run to her and tell her how much you missed her and then whisper little secrets in her ear that make you both giggle. I can see you girls in 5 years, 10 years, 20 years time and imagine it very much like this, inside secrets, your own little sister bubble, thick as thieves and nothing could have prepared me for how happy that makes me feel.
We all cuddle up in bed together on these cold winter nights and every night when your dad gets home we look over at you two and you're wrapped safely in each others arms, sleeping away, content as can be. May you always bring each other this much happiness, you giggly, curly haired babes.

Knot Bow Romper

Last week I had the pleasure of being one of the testers for the Coral and Co. Knot Bow Romper. Lottie and I headed over to our favorite Melbourne fabric store, perused the knit section and, as always with this wonderful shop the perfect fabric was tucked under and between a few bolts and when it emerged we both agreed on something (- for the first time this month)! Fournagers - however will I cope when the real thing comes along?! This pattern was simple and easily laid out and stitched up in no time. Other testers claimed 30 minutes, Ive been solo parenting this week so if I stitched my real-time sewing all together - albeit it was in about 30 second increments - Id say it would add up to roughly the same. If you will be making this and you have kids younger than school age at home I would give yourself 24 hours ;)
This romper is perfect for summer and one of my favorite types of outfits for little ones- an all in one, it covers all the bases of an ensemble with one swoop move and getting dressed is sorted! Its a bit chilly in Australia for this at the moment but luckily for us were getting 2 summers this year - off to America in 6 short weeks! - so this romper will get a lot of love these upcoming seasons! And best of all - it's free! Get yours (in sizes 2-8) here

"A photo of my daughters once a week, every week in 2016"

Róisín: Always testing gravity. Any time you make it up high you must drop things and watch them fall, you head to every edge making me a nervous wreck and when you are asleep in our bed at night you creep to the edges making me sleep with one eye open. Under your sweetness a daredevil lies.

Lottie: Wild one, you are your sisters protector. Laughing as she tests fate and you are there to save her. May that always be the case.

Rainy Days and Mondays

A list of distractions for your Monday morn.

Laughing endlessly at THIS in my sleep deprived state.
THESE photos of Ellis Island immigrants are a great reminder of what truly makes the USA great.
Thinking of knitting up THIS dress, bonus is Róisín's size is free!
THESE spin on a Sunday morning favorite are going to be whipped up this weekend!
THESE 'Angels' blocking hate are an inspiration in the midst of all the madness of late.

" A portrait of my daughters once a week, every week in 2016"

Lottie: Snuggled up in Sherbrooke Forest.
Róisín: Amongst the trees, as a pixie should be :)

Sherbrooke Forest

Sherbrooke Forest, Victoria
Tiny girls, magical forests, talks of fairy houses and magic beyond the leaves. Muddy skirts and woolen jumpers, little hands tucked in big ones and boots slushing in mud. Mushroom foraging and kangaroo prints, rosey cheeks and ancient trees. Dancing through the paths and singing silly songs,
here with you is everywhere I want to be. xo
