A portrait of my daughter once a week, every week in 2015

Lottie Cakes: You are insistent on dressing yourself, have a reason for every outfit choice and most of the time - when ensembles are weather appropriate - this really makes me smile.
The last month until baby comes has begun and I think you are beginning to sense this. You know I can not move as fast or as freely as before and are using this to your advantage and your cheekiness has grown a level, a level my exhaustion can't quite keep up with. The only solace these days is the sleepy hours when you stroke my cheeks and hug my belly telling your little sibling growing inside who you are, how much you love them and what you will teach and show them when they come. I rub your little back and tell you stories of the day you came and the times that followed which make us all giggle and even more excited for the little life that is soon to join us on the outside.

"A portrait of my daughter once a week, every week in 2015"

Lottie Cakes: Forever the Drama Queen. Life with you is full force, you run wild, sing made up songs at the top of your lungs, dancelike a madwoman at every possible opportunity, scream like the teenage years are already upon us and in the same moment turn and tell me you love me more than the world and that I am your very best friend who you love all the way to the sky. By the end of the day when you are snuggled up in my arms, playing with my hair and drifting off to your dreamland I am exhausted beyond belief but grateful I got you little wild woman. Your personality will never burn low and you sure keep your mama on her toes. xo

Times, they are a changing ...

So many changes over the past few months, which explains the quietness in this space and the bi-monthly photo posts as opposed to the regular weekly catch-up. In around 6 weeks 3 will become 4 and then about 6 weeks after that our family will receive another blessing and Lottie will get her first Aussie cousin. The family is growing quickly and excitement is up as we prepare for the next chapter and all the sweet smells, cuddly little feets and baby giggles it entails. Amongst all this news I started a new job, my first real job in my field since the birth of my little red and while the hours were long and the exhaustion and swollen ankles were huge it was funny timing and a great experience. I won't wait as long to return after this little one but I have a great little helper now and a good few weeks to rest, relax, nest and have plenty of PJ parties with Tiny while she is still an only child.

Weekends with you.

For most of your tiny life we have been juggling double shifts and handovers of responsibility on those precious two days of the week beginning with S that everyone else lives for. Friday nights for us meant the madness was beginning and exhaustion set in just thinking about what was to come. Over the last few months our lives have been rearranged and when the clock strikes 5 on Friday we now rejoice in the fact that we will soon be snuggled in to our pyjamas, eating delicious food and that the next couple of days will be spent with pancake breakfasts, lazy days at the park and birthday parties and events that we all can attend together now. Life with you guys is beautiful any day of the week but how good is it being one of the TGIFers?!
